AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II will start Monday his visit to Washington after concluding a visit to Mexico, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty on Saturday concluded a working visit to Mexico during which he met with President Enrique Pena Nieto and senior officials and private sector leaders. The king's talks focused on bilateral ties and means to develop them in all areas, particularly at the economic level.
King Abdullah will meet on Monday with representatives of US-based Arab and Muslim organisations in Washington, DC.
He is scheduled to meet with several senior US officials in Washington, concluding the visit with a summit meeting with US President Barack Obama in California on February 14.
King Abdullah meeting with President Obama will focus on the friendly relations between Jordan and the US and means of further developing them in a manner that enhances peace efforts exerted by both leaders to support the opportunity of achieving peace in the Middle East.
The two leaders will also discuss possibilities for developing the strategic partnership between the two countries in the political, economic and security fields. They will also continue coordinating regarding the developments in the region especially the peace efforts and the efforts exerted by Secretary of State John Kerry as well as the situation in Syria.
