Helicopter carrying Jordan's king hits bad weather
Daily star - A Mexican official says a helicopter carrying King Abdullah II of Jordan had to make an emergency landing in the Gulf Coast state of Veracruz because of bad weather.
The official said that King Abdullah II was traveling to an unidentified location when his helicopter made an emergency landing Thursday on a baseball field in the town of Cuitlahuac.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because he isn't authorized to talk to the press.
Cuitlahuac Mayor Jose Ureta told The Associated Press that upon landing the monarch was quickly surrounded by law enforcement officials in SUVs who then drove him to the nearest airport.
King Abdullah II met with President Enrique Pena Nieto on Thursday and no other official activities were announced.
