AMMONNEWS - One young man was killed and three others sustained gunshot injuries on Sunday when armed assailants fired gunshots from an automatic weapon at them while driving in the northeastern governorate of Mafraq.
The four men are believed to be students at Aal al-Bayt university in Mafraq and were leaving campus when the incident happened in front of the Labor Department in Mafraq.
A security source told Ammon News that two of the injured are in critical condition, and were rushed to the state-run Mafraq hospital.
The victim sustained a gunshot fire to the head, leading to a hemorrhage in the skull and severe brain damage.
Police launched an investigation in the incident, the source said, adding that initial reports revealed that the incident happened as a result of an old tribal feud.
The injured young men are from the northern Badia region, and police are still investigating the perpetrators.
