AMMONNEWS - A man on Tuesday fired gunshots inside Al Hussein Cancer Center, reportedly targeting security guards inside the center.
The man was reportedly visiting the hospital with his wife to receive a blood infusion at the second floor of the hospital, before he pulled out a gun and fired at the direction of security guards.
An eye-witness, Dr. Rajeh Sbateen was present during the shooting, told Ammon News that the man fired the shorts at around 11:15 AM on Tuesday morning before he was apprehended and taken to the security room inside the hospital.
Several hospital employees noted that they witnessed live firing from the weapon, while others said that the gun was a sound firearm.
A security source later on Tuesday confirmed to Ammon News the incident, noting that the man walked into the hospital carrying a firearm, which alarmed employees and visiting patients who promptly called police.
The man reportedly said that it is his right to carry a gun.
Police arrested the man and took him to Al Rashid Police Precinct for questioning.
No one was injured in the incident.
