Plot to bomb Zaatari camp pretext to military intervention in Syria
AMMONNEWS - A plot is allegedly underway to orchestrate a bombing in the Za'atari refugee camp for Syrians in northeastern Jordan to be used as a pretext for military intervention in Syria, a newspaper said.
Lebanon-based Al Safir newspaper reported on Sunday that an unnamed Jordanian source said that there is 'information on preparations for a bombing to take place at Za'atari,' the largest Syrian refugee camp in Jordan, situated in the desert governorate of Mafraq in northeastern Jordan, which hosts over 80,000 Syrian refugees.
The source reportedly told the newspaper that 'the Syrian intelligence would be blamed for the attack as a prelude to a military intervention in Syria.'
'This may be the reason for US forces to remain in Jordan following the recent joint military exercises [Eager Lion],' the source allegedly told Al Safir.
