AMMONNEWS - A specialized non-profit media training center was launched in Amman on Saturday in celebration of Jordan’s Independence Day.
The new communications house, called 'Imdad Media Center,' will offer media education to civic society organizations, youth and women’s organizations, NGOs, Professional Associations in addition to school and university students.
The center’s director, Dr. Nabil Al-Sharif, who is Jordan’s former minister of media affairs, said in a statement on Saturday that Imdad will offer media empowerment to various stakeholders in society to help them boost their productivity and enhance their ability to achieve their development goals.
He added that launching the center on Independence Day was meant as a modest of recognition and celebration of this auspicious occasion.
The center, which has a network of renowned media experts, will also offer training sessions to journalists to enhance professionalism and ensure compliance with ethical standards in local media institutions.
The Center's main goal is to increase awareness of the professional standards of journalism, and to highlight the responsible role of media as a partner in development.
