Army chief to attend top military meeting in Brussels
AMMAN (Petra) Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lieutenant General Mishal Mohammed al-Zabin, on Monday began an official visit to Belgium to attend two-day meetings with the chiefs of staff of NATO and non-NATO countries, especially countries that deploy troops in Afghanistan.
Al-Zabin will meet with U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, for a discussion on ways to develop bilateral relations, aspects of cooperation and issues of mutual interest between the armies of the two countries.
They will tackle preparations for the 'Eager Lion' military exercise that will be held in Jordan within the next few weeks in which a number of countries will take part.
Moreover, the army chief will meet with the Deputy Secretary General of NATO and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee to discuss aspects of cooperation between the Jordan Armed Forces and the alliance.
