King, Turkish official discuss ties, regional issues
AMMAN (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Wednesday the chief adviser to Turkey's president, Ershat Hurmuzlu, who conveyed to the King the greetings of Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
The King expressed satisfaction with the strong relations between Jordan and Turkey, and called for further strengthening of bilateral ties in various fields.
The meeting discussed the latest political developments in the Middle East, with focus on the current situation in Syria, the means of resolving the Syrian crisis, and the efforts needed to establish lasting peace in the region.
The Turkish official expressed his country’s willingness to continue cooperating with Jordan and further boosting relations with the Kingdom in the interests of both countries.
Hurmuzlu expressed appreciation for the recent visit of King Abdullah to Turkey, saying it would contribute to enhancing cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Director of the King's Office Imad Fakhoury, the King's Adviser Abdullah Wreikat and Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Sedat Onal.
