Dispersed groups of young men carried out protests and riots in the city of Ma'an in protest of the Vocational Training Institute's refusal to hire nearly 200 local young men who graduated from its programs.
The young men claim to have been promised jobs after the training period, and have carried out successive protests in the past several months.
Dozens of protesting young men set rubber tires on fire in the midst of the city and protested in King Hussein Street.
Gendarmerie forces were deployed to protect public buildings in the city in precautionary measures against any escalation of violence.
Protesters reportedly hurled molotov cocktails at security forces in reaction to police firing tear gas to disperse the crowds.
