Crown Prince urges CDD to maintain development, modernization
AMMAN (Petra) His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein on Sunday called on the Civil Defence Department CDD general headquarters and stressed the need for the security apparatus to keep pace with the national development and modernization drive.
In a meeting with CDD Director General Lt. Gen. Talal Kufahi, Prince Hussein conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to civil defence personnel for 'their professional efforts in performing their humanitarian duty of protecting lives and safeguarding national achievements.' Kufahi said his security body had made 'confident strides, thanks to support by the King, that enabled it to go along with more accomplishment and giving through providing the highest safety and security service to the citizens.' The civil defence chief briefed the crown prince on the various stages of development his apparatus had undergone in terms of training and rehabilitation in the areas of civil protection and advancement of plans to upgrade its performance.
The crown prince toured up-to-date machinery and equipment used by specialized CDD teams.
