'Skyfall,' the latest installment in the British superspy James Bond film franchise, has earned $1 billion at the worldwide box office, Variety reported.
The movie has made $289.6 million domestically and $710.6 million internationally since its theatrical release during the fall.
'Skyfall' is the third picture this year to pass the $1 billion milestone after 'The Avengers' and 'The Dark Knight Rises,' Variety said.
'To see a film connect with audiences is always gratifying but the success of this film is nothing short of extraordinary,' said Sony worldwide marketing and distribution chief Jeff Blake. 'We couldn't be more excited for Michael Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Sam Mendes, Daniel Craig, and especially the fans who put James Bond in this very rare and very exclusive billion dollar box office club.'
