Ammon News Wins Forbes' Best Jordanian News Website, 4th Regionally
AMMONNEWS - Ammon News Agency won an award for Best News Website in Jordan and fifth place as strongest presence on the internet regionally in part of Forbes Magazine's annual listings and media awards announced Wednesday night.
Ammon News also won fourth place in the category of most online media presence and influence on the Arab regional level.
Editor-in-Chief Wael al-Jaraysheh received the award on behalf of Ammon News during the Forbes Magazine 2012 media awards ceremony held in Dubai Wednesday evening.
Forbes Middle East announced in a press statement that the results of the annual best media outlets in the Arab World for 2012 are based on Google Analytics data and information about newspapers and online websites on social networking sites, that included 14 Arab countries and 71 various media outlets.
In the category of 2012 Strongest Electronic News Sites in the Arab World, Forbes noted that the list included 27 news websites, evaluated on the basis of their popularity and success in maintaining readership using various technical tools.
The listing methodology depended on data from Google Analytics for the time period from 31 August 2011 until 31 August 2012, with Masrawi, Egypt's leading news website, heading the list, followed by Saudi Arabia's 'Sabaq.'
