'Phosphate' Retirees Block Major Amman Rd in Protest
AMMONNEWS - Retired employees of the Jordan Phosphates Company on Sunday blocked a major road in the busy Abadali district in Amman in protest for end of service benefits demands.
The retirees demonstrated near the Ministry of Industry and Trade, accusing the company of 'ignoring their demands,' which include end of service benefits, distribution of shares, and including family members in health insurance.
Gendaremerie forces and police worked to contain the protest and reopen the road, after protester's road blockage caused a major traffic jam in the busy business district.
