Top US official thanks Jordan for open-border policy for Syrian refugees
Petra - United States Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration, Anne C. Richard, on Wednesday thanked Jordan for maintaining an open-border policy for Syrian refugees despite the Kingdom's economic and financial hardships.
Speaking at a meeting with a number of journalists in Amman, Richard said her the US is about to offer Jordan with more than $660 million assistance to Jordan over a period of five years under a memorandum of understating the countries signed.
She stressed Jordanian-US ties and said they are based on mutual respect and common interests. He also spoke her visit to the Zaatari Syrian refugees camp in northern Jordan.
