Islamist Party Rejects Resignation of Prominent Leader
AMMONNEWS - The Islamic Action Front (IAF) political party said that it refused to accept the resignation of the head of its political bureau Dr. Rohile Gharaibeh.
Hamzeh Mansour, Secretary General of IAF, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood told Ammon News that the political party rejected Gharaibeh's resignation, which the latter submitted late last week.
Mansour noted that the politburo is one of the important committees within the political party, adding the Gharaibeh 'understood' the party's decision to refuse his resignation.
Gharaibeh is not answering phone calls from the media at this time, and Ammon News could not get statements from him.
Meanwhile, a special committee was formed from members of the IAF Shura (consultation) council to follow up on accusations of use of political money in the IAF's internal elections earlier in the year.
The claims consider that violations were committed in the internal elections in favor of the hardliners in the movement at the expense of moderates.
