Amman, (Petra) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday met with Baroness Morris of Bolton, newly-appointed UK Trade Envoy to Jordan, and discussed with her means to cement economic ties and trade exchange between Jordan and the UK.
Ensour said Jordan is keen on boosting economic relations with the UK in particular and the European Union in general, stressing the need for encouraging the UK private sector to import Jordanian goods, namely pharmaceuticals, Dead Sea products and agricultural products. The prime minister said the government is committed to providing an investment-friendly climate for British investors to seize available investments opportunities and enter regional markets through Jordan. He referred to a number of domains with investment potential such as technology-transfer, energy, cars, jewelry, food production, construction and ICT.
Baroness Morris said her country is keen on enhancing economic ties with Jordan to serve both countries interests.
