Syria says no skirmishes with Jordan, highlights cooperation across sectors
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani said on Saturday that Jordan and Syria have comprehensive relations across various sectors, stressing that there are no skirmishes between the two countries.
Al-Shaibani said the third session of the Jordanian-Syrian Higher Joint Coordination Council will be held next month.
He added that there is significant cooperation between Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria to ensure border security and stability.
Al-Shaibani also spoke about Syria's successful experience in expelling the militias that had intervened in the country and dragged it into a devastating 14-year war.
He stressed that any weapons outside the framework of the state weaken the state itself before posing a threat to others and neighbouring countries.
He added that Syria's policy is based on the belief that genuine security is embodied in states capable of protecting their people, and that regional stability is measured by the ability to safeguard societies against the infiltration of chaos and establish solid foundations for peace.
Regarding attacks targeting Jordan and Gulf countries, Al-Shaibani affirmed that Syria stands shoulder to shoulder with Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Oman in confronting any aggression.
He expressed Syria's strongest condemnation of missile and drone attacks, stressing that the stability of these countries is a natural extension of Damascus's security.
