Jordan's crude oil production fell 83.2% between in 5 years
Data from the Ministry of Energy's 2025 annual report showed that Jordan's crude oil production fell by 83.2% between 2021 and 2025, declining from approximately 107,900 barrels to 18,200 barrels. Meanwhile, natural gas production decreased by 11.4%, from 7 billion to 6.2 billion cubic feet.
In contrast, total consumption of petroleum products increased by approximately 10%, rising from 3.61 million tonnes in 2021 to around 3.97 million tonnes in 2025.
Jet fuel recorded the largest relative increase in consumption, at approximately 73.9%, followed by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at 31.3% and diesel at 16.1%. In contrast, gasoline consumption fell by 6.9%, while fuel oil consumption declined by 27.3%.
Regarding imports, the combined volume of crude oil and petroleum product imports increased by 9.7%, from approximately 3.99 million tonnes in 2021 to 4.37 million tonnes in 2025.
The data also showed that crude oil imports rose by 16.3% over the same period, reaching approximately 2 million tonnes. LPG imports increased by around 30%, while gasoline imports declined by 17.6%.
