Hebrew media: Pilot dispute reportedly behind diversion of Dubai–Tel Aviv flight
Hebrew media revealed the reason behind the diversion of a flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday, as well as the confusion surrounding the incident.
Hebrew newspaper Ynet reported that a dispute broke out between the pilots on board the flight, causing it to land in Saudi Arabia after a possible hijacking threat was reported.
The dispute between the pilots led to an emergency button being pressed by mistake, although the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be conclusively determined, according to Hebrew media.
Earlier reports in Hebrew media said an incident had occurred on board a flydubai aircraft traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv with around 100 Israeli passengers, forcing the plane to divert from its original route.
Israel's Channel 12 also reported a 'security incident' on board the aircraft, saying the flight had departed Dubai for Tel Aviv before changing course.
