Loans and credit facilities to individuals reach JD14.5 billion in Q2
The value of loans and credit facilities extended to individuals rose by around JD200 million during the second quarter of this year compared with the first quarter, and by around JD353 million compared with the second quarter of 2025.
According to data from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), the value of loans and credit facilities extended to individuals reached JD14.508 billion in the second quarter of 2026, compared with JD14.312 billion in the first quarter and JD14.156 billion in the second quarter of last year.
The number of loans increased slightly during the second quarter, reaching 1.658 million, compared with 1.655 million in the first quarter, while the figure stood at 1.629 million in the second quarter of 2025.
According to the gender distribution of borrowers and recipients of credit facilities from the local banking sector, men accounted for around 80% of total facilities during the second quarter, with a value of JD11.592 billion, compared with JD2.916 billion for women.
Geographically, Amman Governorate accounted for the largest share of total loans and credit facilities, at JD 30.548 billion out of JD 37.148 billion, while Tafilah Governorate recorded the lowest value, at around JD 150 million during the second quarter.
