The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that firefighting and ambulance teams from the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate responded on Sunday to a fire that broke out inside an apartment on the fourth floor of a four-story residential building in Zarqa Governorate.
The fire resulted in the deaths of three siblings (a 7-month-old girl and two boys aged 4 and 7) after they sustained severe burns to their bodies.
The parents also suffered various burns and respiratory distress.
Firefighting teams extinguished the blaze and brought it under control, while ambulance crews provided the necessary first aid to the injured before transporting them, and the deceased, to Zarqa Government Hospital.
The injured remain under treatment.
The relevant authorities will launch an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
