Jordan on Tuesday condemned an Iranian attack on two United Arab Emirates (UAE) oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz, killing one person and injuring eight others.
The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs described the attack as a blatant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens maritime security and navigation safety. It stressed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with the UAE and its support for all measures the country takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens.
The ministry also extended its sincere condolences to the government and people of India over the death of one of its citizens in the attack and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
