Jordanian dies, wife missing after Venezuela earthquakes
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, through its Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate, is closely monitoring the situation of Jordanians residing in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela following the two earthquakes that struck the country.
The ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Majali, said that one Jordanian citizen residing in Venezuela has died as a result of the earthquakes, while his wife remains missing.
Majali stated that the ministry, through the Jordanian Embassy in Brazil, is coordinating with Venezuelan authorities in the search for the missing woman and is providing the necessary assistance and support to the family.
All other Jordanians residing in Venezuela are safe, he added.
The spokesperson urged Jordanians living or present in Venezuela to contact the ministry or the Jordanian Embassy in Brazil for assistance around the clock through the following channels:
