Saudi Arabia denounces Iran attacks on Jordan, Gulf states
Saudi Arabia on Thursday condemned Iran’s latest attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan warning that continued attacks would increase tension in the region and urging return to diplomacy the foreign ministry said in a statement.
“The Foreign Ministry expresses the condemnation and rejection by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the recurrence of the Iranian attacks that targeted the brotherly Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, and the continuation of the attacks on the sovereignty of those brotherly states which increases the intensity of tension in the region,” the statement read.
It further called for calm, the avoiding of escalation, the “return to diplomatic work” and the completion of the negotiations that Pakistan is overseeing along with the efforts exerted by Qatar.
Earlier that day, Iran had launched attacks on Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait.
