Energy Ministry: JD5 subsidy per household gas cylinder
The Director of the Oil and Gas Directorate at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Iman Awad, confirmed that the government continues to support household gas cylinders and maintains their price at 7 dinars per cylinder.
Awad said in a video published by the ministry that the actual cost of a 12.5 kg household gas cylinder is JD12.5, meaning there is a JD5 difference compared to the official selling price.
She added that the total government subsidy for the month of May amounted to JD9.4 million , noting that this support aims to absorb sharp increases in global prices and reduce their impact on citizens.
She also pointed out that the continuation of this subsidy comes despite global increases in liquefied petroleum gas prices, due to geopolitical conditions in the region.
