Ministry launches dedicated walkway, bike lane project on Airport Road
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced the start of a project to construct dedicated pedestrian and bicycle lanes along the left service road of Airport Road in the Capital Governorate.
The ministry said the project stretches for approximately 400 meters and comes as part of efforts to enhance road safety and encourage active transportation, helping promote a culture of exercise and improve quality of life for road users.
It explained that implementation of the works will require the closure of part of the left service road, from just after the Madaba Bridge to just before the IKEA Jordan area, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for an estimated 60 days until completion of the works.
The ministry stressed that the closure will be limited to the service road running parallel to the main road, minimizing its impact on traffic, while traffic flow on the main Airport Road will remain uninterrupted throughout the project period.
