Authorities issues arrest warrant for man accused of insulting Prophet in viral video
A security source confirmed on Tuesday that authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of insulting the Prophet Muhammad in a video circulated on social media.
The source told 'Ammon News' that the Cybercrime Unit of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) detected the offensive content and moved to apprehend the suspect in order to take legal action.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Artists Association stressed the importance of not casually labeling individuals as “artists” without verifying their legal and professional status.
Commenting on the widely circulated videos and statements made by a young man allegedly posing as an artist, the association said the remarks contained unacceptable religious insults and falsehoods that are wholly rejected and do not reflect the societal and cultural values underpinning Jordanian art.
The association added that the individual has no affiliation with the union, is not listed in its official records, and has never been recognized or engaged with in any professional or union capacity.
