Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi met on Monday evening with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed developments in the region, particularly the brutal Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, the UAE, and a number of sisterly and friendly countries, and the repercussions of these serious attacks on regional and international security and stability, international navigation security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
During the meeting, Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah condemned these attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
Safadi reiterated the Kingdom’s absolute solidarity with the UAE in all the measures and steps it takes to defend its sovereignty and security, and to ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
For his part, Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with the Kingdom against the Iranian attacks that targeted it.
The two ministers also discussed developments following the Islamabad meeting and the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the importance of strengthening collective international efforts to establish lasting peace and security in the region. This would ensure the resolution of all causes of tension that have persisted for decades and contribute to fulfilling the aspirations of the region's people for development and economic prosperity.
