PSD warns of severe weather, urges public to avoid flood-prone areas
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Wednesday warned of expected adverse weather conditions in the coming period, urging the public to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines.
The PSD called on citizens to avoid flood-prone areas, including valleys and low-lying areas, and warned against attempting to cross flooded roads regardless of water depth. It stressed the importance of moving immediately to higher ground if water levels rise.
Authorities also advised the public to stay away from bodies of water and dams during flash floods, and to take extra care while driving due to reduced visibility caused by fog over mountainous areas and dust in desert regions.
The Public Security Directorate urged residents to secure loose objects that could be displaced by strong winds and to use heating devices safely while ensuring adequate ventilation indoors.
The PSD said it remains fully prepared to respond to emergencies and urged the public to call 911 if needed.
