Iran appoints successor to Larijani in top security role
Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr has been appointed secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, the Iranian president's office has said in a post on X.
Zolqadr reached the rank of brigadier general in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, before serving as the secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council.
He replaces Ali Larijani, who was killed in a strike last week.
