Petra welcomes 595 visitors during first day of Eid al-Fitr
Petra received 595 visitors on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to Imad Hilalat, Director of Tourism at the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority.
Hilalat explained that most of the visitors were Jordanian residents, numbering approximately 325 on Friday.
He anticipated an improvement in visitor numbers on the second day of Eid, noting that 300 visitors had been recorded by 11:00 AM.
He indicated that Petra is experiencing better tourism than it did during Ramadan, but the activity is still very weak compared to previous years.
