BAU directs flexible measure for students stranded abroad
Ahmad Fakhri Al-Ajlouni, President of Al-Balqa Applied University, has directed faculty deans to take into account the circumstances of international students and Jordanian students currently outside the Kingdom, whose travel restrictions have prevented them from joining in classes on this semester.
Al-Ajlouni stressed the importance of handling these cases with flexibility, instructing department heads and faculty members to consider each student individually until they are able to return to the Kingdom and resume their studies.
The university is preparing suitable academic arrangements and plans to compensate for any missed classes, ensuring that student`s academic progress is not affected and that they can continue in their programs, Al-Ajlouni noted.
In addition, the university’s Council of Deans has decided that absences of international students and Jordanians stranded abroad due to travel restrictions will be considered excused until they are able to return and attend classes, in recognition of circumstances beyond their control.
Al-Balqa Applied University also emphasized that it is closely monitoring the current developments in the region, underlining that these measures are taken out of concern for student`s welfare and will remain in effect until normal air travel resumes and students can return to their classrooms.
