FM holds high-level talks in Caracas to deepen bilateral ties with Venezuela
Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Friday afternoon, Venezuela time. Safadi conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Abdullah II and reaffirmed the King’s commitment to strengthening relations between Jordan and Venezuela.
In a press statement released on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the Venezuelan acting president conveyed her greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah II and affirmed Venezuela’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations across various fields.
The meeting also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in several economic sectors, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Upon his arrival in Venezuela, Safadi met Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil, where they held extensive talks on ways to expand cooperation between the two countries across key sectors, including energy, oil, gas, tourism, culture, trade, and investment, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
The two ministers also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern and underscored the importance of collective efforts to promote regional and international security and stability.
Safadi and Gil agreed to develop a clear roadmap outlining available and promising economic cooperation sectors and mechanisms to advance collaboration, as well as to expedite the signing of bilateral agreements necessary to strengthen ties across various fields.
They also agreed to sign a memorandum on political consultations to institutionalize regular meetings aimed at enhancing friendship and cooperation between Jordan and Venezuela.
The two countries had previously signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation and an agreement exempting holders of diplomatic passports from entry visas.
