Markazia Toyota has unveiled the second generation of the GR Yaris in Jordan during a special event held at its authorized service center in Bayader. Sports car enthusiasts were out in full force as the event celebrated a new milestone in the Yaris journey, inspired by the world of motorsport.
Drawing on Toyota’s expertise in the World Rally Championship, Super Taikyu Series and Rally Japan, the GR Yaris reflects Toyota’s race-first development philosophy. The model was developed under the supervision of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing team, which recently secured the FIA World Rally Championship manufacturers’ title for the fifth consecutive year.
The new model features the Aero Performance Package, designed to optimize airflow, increase stability and improve cooling efficiency. Combined with an advanced all-wheel drive system and a high-performance turbocharged engine, the model delivers a truly dynamic sports driving experience.
Powered by a 1.6-liter three-cylinder direct-injection turbo engine, the GR Yaris produces 296 horsepower and up to 400 Nm of torque. Drivers can choose between an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed intelligent manual transmission. The vehicle is further equipped with the GR-FOUR full-time all-wheel drive system, featuring electronic control and three selectable driving modes to ensure dynamic torque distribution between the front and rear wheels, exceptional grip and cornering stability across diverse driving conditions.
The GR Yaris also embodies Toyota’s commitment to the highest quality standards. Each vehicle is hand-assembled at the GR Factory within Toyota’s renowned Motomachi Plant by ‘takumi’ master craftspeople. Safety remains a top consideration, supported by advanced Toyota Safety Sense technologies, giving drivers in Jordan and the region a driving experience that seamlessly blends performance, control and innovation.
Commenting on the launch, Izz Busatmi, Manager of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing in Jordan, “The launch of the second generation of the GR Yaris in Jordan marks an important step for sports driving enthusiasts. It also embodies our commitment to presenting motorsport-inspired models that meet the expectations of high-performance fans and offer them an exceptional driving experience.”
