Petra visitors up 23.1% in first 11 months of 2025
Petra recorded a notable rise in visitor numbers during the first eleven months of 2025, with an increase of about 23.1% compared to the same period in 2024, according to preliminary official data.
According to the data, Petra welcomed around 429,841 visitors between January and November 2024, comprising 149,724 Jordanians and 280,117 foreign tourists. In contrast, visitor numbers during the same months of 2025 climbed to approximately 529,167, including 157,938 Jordanians and 371,229 foreigners.
The statistics highlight a significant surge in international tourism, with foreign visitor numbers rising by 32.5%, while visits by Jordanians saw a more modest increase of 5.5% over the same period.
Earlier, preliminary data from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) indicated that tourism revenue in November 2025 increased by 12.6% to reach $606.6 million, compared to a 14.9% increase to $538.6 million during the same month in 2024.
Consequently, tourism revenue rose by 7.0% during the first eleven months of 2025, reaching $7,160.2 million, compared to $6,691.7 million during the same period in 2024.
