PSD urges caution amid expected severe weather conditions
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) urged citizens to comply with safety instructions and act responsibly amid the expected weather depression affecting the Kingdom starting today, Thursday.
The PSD stressed the importance of avoiding valleys, flood-prone areas, and low-lying locations, particularly in the northern parts of the Kingdom and sections of the central and western regions.
It also called for extra caution while driving on rain-soaked roads to prevent skidding, and warned against approaching water accumulations or attempting to cross them, whether on foot or by vehicle.
In addition, the Directorate highlighted the need to use heating appliances safely, advising against refueling them while in operation, leaving them on during sleep, and emphasizing the importance of proper home ventilation.
The PSD further warned of strong winds and gusts, as well as reduced horizontal visibility caused by fog and low clouds touching the ground, especially in mountainous and plain areas, and by dust in desert regions.
Citizens were encouraged to immediately contact the unified emergency number 911 whenever assistance is needed.
