Minister: Number of unlicensed day laborers reaches 8,000
Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri revealed that the number of unlicensed day laborers in municipalities and joint services councils has reached 8,000.
In response to a parliamentary question on Monday, Masri said that this number is enormous, and a significant portion of these workers are performing administrative tasks not stipulated in their employment contracts.
The numbers of workers who are actually performing their work id 4,200 workers, whose names have been submitted to the Civil Service Commission for the purpose of regularizing their employment, the Minister added.
