The Cabinet, in a session held on Wednesday headed by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, decided to exempt the 230 trucks and vehicles intended to be donated by the United Nations Office from all customs duties and general and special sales taxes, for the purpose of using them to support the Jordanian humanitarian corridor and provide aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip and support Jordanian relief efforts in the Strip.
The decision comes as a continuation of a previous decision by the Cabinet to exempt 270 trucks and vehicles from fees and taxes, bringing the total number to 500 trucks and vehicles (cars and forklifts).
These vehicles and trucks will be registered in the name of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and operated by the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army and the Organization.
