'World Central Kitchen' chooses Amman as regional center
The non-governmental organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) announced the transfer of its regional headquarters to the Jordanian capital, Amman, in a strategic move to strengthen its operations in the region.
A well-informed source in the organization explained to Al-Mamlaka news channel that the move will begin next month, as most of its employees are scheduled to arrive in Jordan by next Sunday, January 5, 2025.
This move aims to make the Jordan office a major launching point for its humanitarian operations targeting several regions, most notably Gaza and Lebanon.
The WCK known for providing food support to areas affected by wars and disasters, had temporarily suspended its activities in Gaza on November 30, after one of its crew vehicles was subjected to an Israeli aggression.
