26,700 citizens registered to perform Hajj until Wednesday
Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Mohammad Khalayleh said on Thursday that 26,700 citizens had registered to perform the Hajj pilgrimage until Wednesday evening.
Khalayleh told Al Mamlaka that 1,950 savers in the Hajj Fund had registered to perform the pilgrimage, noting that Jordan's quota for Hajj includes 8,000 pilgrims, both male and female.
Khalayleh expected to announce those eligible to perform the Hajj pilgrimage within the next two months.
The initial registration for Hajj pilgrims from Jordanians and Gaza Strip residents living in Jordan will close at 10:00 pm on Thursday, Khalayleh noted, adding that the registration remains open via the electronic Hajj portal, and registrants are not required to have received two doses of the approved COVID-19 vaccine, as stated by the ministry.
