Tourism revenues during the first eleven months of 2024 amounted to $6.6917 billion, down 3.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
A preliminary data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) showed that this decrease is due to a 4.9% decline in the number of tourists.
The data showed that tourism income from Jordanian expatriates increased by 7.4% and from Arabs by 12.5%, while tourism income from European, American and other nationalities decreased by 55.4%, 37.4% and 17.8% respectively.
Also, the data showed an increase in spending on tourism abroad during the first eleven months of 2024 by 3.3% to reach $1.789 billion compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
