12 Jordanians evacuated from Lebanon via military aircraft
In continuation of implementing the Royal Directives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced Wednesday the evacuation of 12 Jordanian citizens from Lebanon, via a military aircraft belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, which had flown to Rafic Hariri International Airport today carrying humanitarian aid for the brotherly Lebanese people. This aircraft is the 10th of the Jordanian aid aircraft that carried food, relief supplies, medicines and medical supplies.
Up to 102 Jordanians have been evacuated from Lebanon aboard Royal Air Force planes, all were registered on the Jordanian embassy's platform, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Sufian Al-Qudah.
Since August, some 3,305 Jordanians have returned home from Lebanon through the Queen Alia International Airport, plus the numbers who crossed at the Jaber border post from Syria, he said.
The Jordanian embassy in Beirut and the Civil Aviation Authority were in cooperation with Middle East Airlines to run additional flights to Jordan with special seats to Jordanians, as well as offering help to those returning by land across Syria, added the spokesman.
The evacuation was within a plan by the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, security bodies, the Interior Ministry and the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, he said.
The spokesman said the state apparatuses' joint crisis cell will continue the evacuation of Jordanian nationals from Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese authorities, adding that the Jordanian embassy in Beirut is in contact with the Jordanian community there, who are all safe.
