Goods are available, prices lower than during Ramadan 2023, Gov't says
Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Shamali said that Jordan possesses a reassuring strategic reserve of wheat and barley, which is sufficient for the country for 10 months.
The government has completed preparations for the holy month of Ramadan since February, as all goods, including sugar, rice, and oils, are available at lower prices than during Ramadan 2023, Shamali stated.
'In the latest report issued by the World Bank, the inflation rate in Jordan reached 2.3%, which is one of the lowest rates in the world,' he explained.
He also stressed that goods are available and prices are affordable for everyone.
Prices in the civil and military institutions will not witness any increase during the holy month of Ramadan, the Minister noted.
Shamali pointed out that at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, there will be increases in the prices of fresh materials such as meat, poultry, and some vegetables, noting that according to the indicators, the ministry will not use any of its tools, such as price ceilings, unless it is forced to do so.
