New prices of oil derivatives in February, expert says
Energy expert Hashem Akel expected that gasoline 90-octane and 95-octane prices would be raised in varying proportions in February, and the price of diesel would be fixed.
Akel told Ammon that Brent crude prices rose $3 last week, and this rise was reflected in the prices of oil derivatives.
The Expert also expected an increase in the price of 90-octane gasoline by 1% (10 fils per liter), and an increase in the price of 95-octane gasoline by 1.3% (15 fils per liter).
He also expected that the price of diesel will be stabilized.
The rise in the price of Brent crude to $83 is due to several reasons, the most important of which is the fear of prolonging the Bab al-Mandab crisis and the continued disruption of navigation for long periods, which may lead to a shortage of supplies, in addition to the recovery in Chinese demand, which indicates the beginning of the recovery of Chinese economic activity, Akel added.
