Palestinian killed, others injured in Israeli assault in Tulkarm
A Palestinian youth was killed this morning during an Israeli army assault on Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm, which left heavy destruction in the infrastructure in the camp and city, according to medical and local sources.
The Ministry of Health said he was shot in the head and declared dead at Thabet Thabet Government Hospital in Tulkarm.
Another youth was shot by a live bullet in the upper left side of his body which caused him to fall and hit his head hard on the ground resulting in hemorrhaging in the brain, according to medics at Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, where he was transferred. The youth was later declared in stable condition.
A large Israeli occupation army forces raided Nur Shams refugee camp at dawn and broke into a number of homes, said local sources
Army bulldozers, that accompanied the forces, destroyed the main street adjacent to the entrance to the camp, which is considered a main road that links the city of Tulkarm to several towns east of the governorate and the Nablus governorate, and destroyed a number of vehicles and shops in the area.
Violent confrontations broke out between the camp’s youths and the occupation soldiers, who fired live bullets and toxic gas bombs at them, as bullets struck the windows of homes, a mosque, and a health clinic.
This was the third incursion into the camp in two months, during which the camp was subjected to raids, vandalism of its street infrastructure, and destruction of its homes, specifically those located on the main street of the camp.
