Golden Triangle needs more investments to increase tourism income, JTB director says
Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) Director General Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat confirmed that the areas of the Golden Triangle still need to increase tourism investments to ensure an increase in tourism income.
In an interview with Ammon, Arabiyat said that there are no rooms or hotels that can accommodate new numbers of tourists, according to the reservations, which means the necessity of increasing the 3- and 4-star beach hotels in Aqaba, as well as to increase hotels number in Petra.
He explained that the goal is to raise tourism income to an unprecedented number after 2030, to reach an income that exceeds $5.5 billion at the end of this year, after it exceeded $5 billion last year.
He explained that there is an increase in the number of tourists by 88% compared to the same period last year, and an estimated increase of 30% compared to 2019.
'Our goal is to raise tourism income without affecting other sectors, Arabiyat added.'
