Jordanian imports of Iraq oil stopped since beginning of April
The import of oil barrels from Iraq has stopped since the beginning of April, after the end of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that provides Jordan with crude oil, despite the approval of the Iraqi Council of Ministers to renew it.
The Director of an oil carrier company Nael Thiabat said that the company had stopped importing oil until the MoU was signed by the two countries.
Thiabat explained that the government must sign an agreement in order for the oil to be supplied to Jordan, indicating that the delay may be from the Iraqi side, according to what Almamlaka tv reported.
He noted that the new MoU allows the import of 10,000 barrels per day.
310,000 barrels of oil were imported during March 2023, he indicated.
