Jordan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant market prices grew by 2.5 percent in 2022 compared to last year, according to data by the Department of Statistics (DoS).
In a quarterly statistical report released Thursday, the DoS revealed that the Kingdom’s GDP at constant market prices in the fourth quarter of 2022 grew by 2 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2021. Preliminary estimates showed that the economic sectors achieved growth during the fourth quarter of last year compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, the DoS indicated.
The data showed that the agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing sector achieved the highest growth rate in the past year, amounting to 4.8 percent, contributing 0.28 percentage points to the overall growth rate; followed by the construction sector by 3.2 percent, contributing 0.10 percentage points; the manufacturing industries sector with 2.7 percent, contributing 0.50 percentage points; and the wholesale and retail trade, hotels and restaurants sector by 2.6 percent, contributing 0.21 percentage points.
