Jordan's trade deficit with EU countries at JD2.5bln in 2022
Jordan's trade balance deficit with the European Union (EU) in 2022 stood at JD2.58 billion, against JD2.54 billion in the same period of 2021, according to official figures.
Foreign trade data issued Wednesday by the Department of Statistics (DoS) showed that national exports to the bloc's countries soared by 139 percent to reach some JD428 million in 2022, compared to JD179 million in 2021.
Imports from the EU member states edged up by 10.8 percent in 2022, amounting to JD3.011 billion against JD2.718 billion in 2021.
According to the figures, the Netherlands was the main EU destination for Jordanian exports while Romania was the Kingdom's top European supplier.
