UN humanitarian delegation visits northwest Syria as earthquake response continues
A United Nations humanitarian delegation was dispatched Wednesday evening to the Syrian governorate of Idlib and visited a displacement camp and a reception center.
'Medical supplies were distributed to three hospitals and the team also met with civil society representatives,' UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said.
He also indicated that seventeen trucks arrived in the region on Wednesday via two crossings – Bab Al-Hawa and Bab Al-Salaam – carrying aid provided by the UN refugee agency, UNHCR; the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
A total of 282 UN trucks transporting aid for earthquake victims in northwest Syria have passed through three border crossings with Turkiye over the past two weeks.
